Jul. 1st, 2010 05:48 amYou know what I love? I've been upgrading my Dreamhack frequently in the past few weeks, because of the June hackathon, and yet, every time I do it, even if I'm doing it every few days, it's still always got lines like:
added 11 changesets with 42 changes to 31 files
added 16 changesets with 66 changes to 47 files
added 42 changesets with 144 changes to 109 files
(That's just from my scrollback, from the last week or so.)
The amount of effort and energy we've all put into knocking down the bug count this past month is just awesome. Seriously, I can't get over just how many things we're improving. I started making a list, during Three Weeks for Dreamwidth, of all the little tiny things we've fixed up -- stuff that's user-facing (so, none of the backend code cleanup type stuff) but small enough that it doesn't get a lot of attention when people are talking about DW's features and changes. I very quickly ran out of energy, but I got up to over fifty items and still wasn't out of the triple digits in the bug list I was working from. (Working forward from bug #1 onward.)
There are a lot of tiny-but-annoying things about running the site and the project that have been frustrating the hell out of me lately, and I think I need to go back to making that list and basking in it for a while. Because, really. The thing we've made here is pretty fucking awesome, and we all keep making it better.
