Oddly, I just saw a feed post from [syndicated profile] data4progress_feed that turned '@' + 'SeanMcElwee' in the source post into [profile] seanmcelwee in the DW feed version.

ETA: and it looks like the Dreamwidth conversion of an @ in front of a word = username association is so strong that trying to put the whole source string in a textarea box here is displaying aas !

Basically, photo storage requires a lot of revamp, some day, but it seems like if you join this initiative, it won't be required at all.
