more tales from the front

Two I forgot:

* The other day, I had to send out an email to someone whose payment bounced, letting them know why we'd had to revert their paid account. It wasn't until Mark called it to my attention that I noticed how I'd signed it:

Dramwidth Studios, LLC

You'd think that after over a year, I'd be able to spell my own damn site name.

* The other day, I answered a support request, all nice and normal. It wasn't until I went back to close it that I noticed how I'd signed it:

You'd think that by age 32, I'd be able to spell my own damn name.

If it's any comfort, my dad still occasionally misspells his name, and he's in his fifties. And I misspelled my (legal) name while signing into rl!gmail the other day. :D?

My father forgot his name once.

Was supposed to introduce himself, went blank, had to call someone over who knew him and ask.

Dad's name?

It's kind of memorable for most people, but apparently not him.

I consistently forget the name of any roommate I have, and refer to them as "Whatsherface, my roommate."

What makes this sad is that I have lived with two different roommates with my name.

The other day, my roommate and I were at a store... and we were splitting a purchase over three transactions. She gave her phone number for one of them. Then by the next one, barely five minutes later, she flat out could not remember it, and I had to tell it to the clerk again for her.

Haha, it just shows you're human, that's all. (And exhausted, prolly.)

I can't say it enough, though: I <3 Dreamwidth. All the way. And when the "gather entries from your LJ friends list" thing gets implemented, no more LJ for me.

(I keep saying that, but I am so irked at how LJ's been the past few years that I need to just stop logging in over there.)

You'd think by the age of 31 I'd have learned how to chew without biting myself, but the sore spot on the inside of my lip says otherwise.

Also, when asked my age, I sometimes spout a random number bearing very little resemblance to the actual number of years I've lived.

Oh, the humanity.

I've managed to mis-spell my last name (7 letters) a few times. Not so bad, embarassing (I'm 7 years older than you). But I'm one letter off from a famous poet's name and didn't realise until about 2 weeks ago the darned auto-correct at work has been kindly changing my surname for me.

I don't know how long it's been doing it and realise I probably look like the biggest idiot to all the lawyers I've had to send instructions to.
