more tales from the front

Two I forgot:

* The other day, I had to send out an email to someone whose payment bounced, letting them know why we'd had to revert their paid account. It wasn't until Mark called it to my attention that I noticed how I'd signed it:

Best,
Denise
Dramwidth Studios, LLC

You'd think that after over a year, I'd be able to spell my own damn site name.

* The other day, I answered a support request, all nice and normal. It wasn't until I went back to close it that I noticed how I'd signed it:

Best,
Dniese

You'd think that by age 32, I'd be able to spell my own damn name.

My father forgot his name once.

Was supposed to introduce himself, went blank, had to call someone over who knew him and ask.

Dad's name?

Hercules.

It's kind of memorable for most people, but apparently not him.

I consistently forget the name of any roommate I have, and refer to them as "Whatsherface, my roommate."

What makes this sad is that I have lived with two different roommates with my name.

The other day, my roommate and I were at a store... and we were splitting a purchase over three transactions. She gave her phone number for one of them. Then by the next one, barely five minutes later, she flat out could not remember it, and I had to tell it to the clerk again for her.
