Yay!

I've just received an email accepting my proposal for the 2011 linux.conf.au, which makes me happy beyond belief -- I had a blast last year, and I was really hoping I'd get the proposal accepted this year so I could attend again.

I'll be presenting a short tutorial session (1 hour and 45 minutes) entitled "Beyond Alt Text: Web Accessibility for the 21st Century". Super special thanks go to the [site community profile] dw_accessibility team, without whom I wouldn't know half of what I know!

Well, if you insist :>

BTW, there's only two nonstops from LAX to BNE -- none from SFO -- on V Australia, which is the Virgin brand, and Qantas. Beware that V Australia's seats are narrower, but are likely to have more fun in-flight entertainment. Your other options are connecting through Sydney.

*nodnod* They are generally awesome, indeed. *points to icon* Well, if you connect through AKL, that's a very good reason to break your journey for a day and have some [personal profile] john time!

...hey, I'm nothing if not persistent. :D

And if you decide you want to take a bit of a layover in SFO, you're definitely welcome :) (Might make a long day of travelling a little better.)

That is srsly impressive, well done!

Is there any likelihood you will post what is possible to post of the content of your tutorial? Web accessibility has long been an interest of mine, and I'd be interested to update my knowledge. What I understand of the subject gets applied, as best I can manage, at www.tolkiensociety.org
