So I think you're awesome anyway because you write fantastic fic, you're making DW and the few personal posts of yours that I've read make me go whoa, I hope I have that much strength to deal with anything that is thrown my way in life - not necessarily in that order.

Hee! yeah, LJ has that too. It's a paid feature on LJ, and it'll be a paid feature here on DW too, but since we're still in closed beta anybody can be a paid user. :)

Smooth Sailing is one of the layouts that LJ hasn't open-sourced, so the only way we could use it would be if the original designer licensed it to Dreamwidth as well. (And then our styles team would have to do the work to port it to our version of S2, core2, which is ... a lot of work!) Our end goal is to make a bunch of styles that are just as flexible and extensible, though, so there'll be a lot of options to choose from. You can follow along with them at dw_styles.
