directory of RP games on DW?

Has anyone made a directory of RP games on DW, or is there a players-wanted ads community anywhere? I'd like to link it in a news update, but I can't find one!

*nod* I know the list of the ones that have asked us for promo codes, but I don't know if any of them are active, accepting players, etc -- I was hoping someone had a list somewhere!

You could always sort of start one in the news post. Post a comment after the first post asking for those who know of an active Dreamwidth roleplay to post the main community name and genre in a specific format (and to make sure you're not duplicating an already existing comment):

The problem with that comm is the ads are almost all for IJ/LJ games; I keep thinking there needs to be an RP ads comm that is only for RPactually on Dreamwidth; now I might have to make it.

(I'm in several RPs on DW, but they're all private storylines so far - i'd love to see some actively taking new members!)

I occasionally see ads for RP comms on my flist; I can only imagine they come from fandomcalendar and fandom_on_dw, but I don't see any on the first page of either comm. That's probably anti-helpful, sorry. :(

If communities could tag themselves then you could set up an automated directory of them!

(It would have to be a bit more complex than that, obviously.)

I think that's a wonderful idea for the long-term and could be extended past RP use into more general categorizing/discovery functionality.

LJ did do something community-directoryish like, but I haven't done enough looking into it to decide if we want to codemerge or redesign.

Probably a bit moot by now, but there is an active/updating list for at least a few handfuls of RP related communities on DW, or ones aiming to open here soon(ish).
