Hear me on NPR!

The NPR piece about advertising and social networks aired on Morning Edition yesterday, and you can hear me in all of my glory! (And by 'glory', I totally mean 'I'd been awake for like, a full day at that point, and was totally losing my voice'.)

I was actually expecting you to have a deeper voice. *g* But you acquitted yourself well, hon.

Who, you, longwinded? Never!

(Hey, last time I was in the press they came out with the exact opposite of what I'd been trying to convey, so as long as that hasn't happened? I'd say you're ahead.)

I cannot believe my brain was actually surprised to find that you have an American accent. You'd think I'd have guessed that from, y'know, the fact that you live in America.

I ran into the same thing in reverse this weekend--met someone whose posts I've been reading for a while, and though I knew she was originally from Britain I was initially startled by her accent. I'd been reading her posts in my own accent, of course!

And [staff profile] denise, thanks for posting the link! I enjoyed listening.

Apparently it isn't dialup friendly, cause I can't get into it. Unless this is DW's version of the 'Slashdot effect'.

I sent information to CBC radio's Q about DW. Do you speak Canadian? :D

It was a good article, and you sounded smart. Now I want to hear the rest of your interview.

Great article, need to listen to the audio.

I've tweeted the URL and will no doubt be hearing from a friend who earnestly thinks people want advertisements in their desktop applications, and seems to be willfully ignorant of the agency problem.

\0/ You sounded awesome! (Which seems obvious, under the same logic of "You sound American!")

And yes, severely truncated interview still beats twisted out of all recognition interview. Was good to hear.

True, that.

I wish there was just a recording of your stuff, though! I'd love to hear what you had to say.

Can we get deleted scenes, so to speak? (ie, stuff I talked about but that got cut for whatever reason, but I think is cool ANYWAY)

You totally didn't get enough radio time. NPR always seems to spend less time on things I actually want to hear. :) But woo! You were on NPR!

You have a lovely clear voice, very listenable (more than the reporter's, that's for damn sure), even if they obviously used the first bit from earlier in your hour of talking, and the second grab from towards the end.

I am so so SO glad there will not be ads on Dreamwidth.

And now someone needs to make an icon of "Hey! Free Widgets!"
