Just wanted to drop over and thank you for my invite (for having a validated e-mail while using open id). I have been a fan of your writing a few years (terrible lurking problem I have) and have excitedly, if silently, been following your progress on the Dreamwidth project. So very cool. I was almost going to submit a bug, that updates were not sorted by date, and then realized that the default date format seems to be dd/mm/yy rather than mm/dd/yy. Now I'm going to just post publically that I am a doofus sometimes. :-)

(Edit: I should also add, if you don't have the resources to run a development environment, we offer hosted dev environments, and there's also dw_dev and dw_dev_training.)

We don't have it integrated with OpenID, no, because we have to track who's submitted a contributor licensing agreement -- so yeah, you'll have to create a new account there, sorry!

I've only been on DW a few hours and love it already. Still don't know what half the features are i.e access, circle, but will get that figured out. Thanks to the both of you for creating this place. I love my other journal places, however well am hoping once this place is out of beta to ask some of my family to join and keep in touch that way.

What's the difference between "blocking launch" and "blocking open beta"?

Open beta is April 30, and it's when they will start taking money for accounts and distributing lots and lots of invite codes, but the prices are discounted because they are fully aware that the site does not run perfectly enough to call it done yet. (Like, no reading filters, which I think were put into the WRONG COLUMN. /bitter, angry mutterings.)

Launch is going to be late this summer, it's when the prices go to full, when the website is considered in full working order, and when they'll have the software completed to the point where they feel comfortable shipping it out so other people can install and use it and LJ clones can upgrade to it.
