(Non-volunteer people who are watching me: you can safely ignore this entry, it's just to make sure I don't forget to give credit where credit is due!)

Other news - dunno if this is too long for newsletter, use thine red pen as required: The accessibility team, especially Jadelennox, are working towards marking up the site with WAI-ARIA landmark roles. This is basically a way to say "this part of the web page is the banner", "this part is the main text", "this part is a menu", and so on to help assistive technology programs understand which part of the page is the bit they want. It would replace the "Skip to main content" links you see on some web pages for example, because the software will be able to find the main content by itself.
Jade and myself are busy going "whee, this technology is cool!" a lot.

We also deployed MogileFS, Gearman, SSL, got directory search working, and I did a lot of other backend stuff. Not much coding this week, unfortunately, but hey. S'life.
