Who's got stuff for the update?

Meanwhile, I'm on the lookout for Dreamwidth users who have Etsy shops -- it doesn't matter what you sell, as long as it's handcrafted of some sort. I'd like to put together a showcase of DW users' creativity -- it's really easy for us to show off writers (of both fiction and nonfiction) on DW, since the tools we have for sharing and promoting writing are fairly well developed, but [staff profile] mark and I always wanted DW to be a place to showcase all kinds of creativity, from writing to craft to photography to just plain chronicling your life, and I'd really like to start doing some work to promote the non-written forms of creative work our users get up to.

([personal profile] sarah and I are faultlesspajama, at the moment containing entirely jewelry. I've been looking for good beads to make Dreamwidth earrings -- alas, still haven't found anything!)

Okay to link and spread the word?

It might be a good idea to re-mention about disabling userpic keyword renames, estimated timeframe ( If you/fu feel comfortable giving a timeframe for that ) for the migration to finish, and expected process about migration ( including the brief readonly on each user ) -- IMO, that's a good thing to mention once somewhere that's more likely to be read instead of only in dw-maint

You might want to warn users about http://bugs.dwscoalition.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2986, especially Drifting users.

At a guess, a fair few more than actually used Vox and switched here, I know at least two people new here used it to switch from LJ.

Me! Although my photo skills are kinda nil and I have a bunch of things that haven't been photographed/described/listed. Any idea when the showcase might be going live? It might be an effective motivator for me. :)

I am currently in charge of [community profile] etsy, if you want to use or promote that in some way. The comm is still a blank slate and I'd be happy to do just about anything with it that people would find useful and/or awesome. (If people want to sign on as co-admins, that would be cool with me.)

[personal profile] rivenwanderer has gorgeous jewelry up at purpleshiny.etsy.com. [profile] clovisthecomely sells her work at http://www.etsy.com/shop/thecoppercamel, and [personal profile] sihaya09 is at sihaya09.etsy.com. Oh, and Riv has a bunch of bead suppliers in her favorite shops list on etsy, if you're looking for etsy-based bead makers/sellers.

I have an Etsy shop.

Catch a Dream is the place to go for customized non-traditional dreamcatchers for the non-traditional dreamer.

Not all of my designs are currently displayed but a full archive of everything can be found on the Facebook Store Page in pictures.

I wish I had the guts to start an etsy store (well, that and I wish I spent more time making jewellery). Maybe one day!

[personal profile] purpleprimate 2010-09-28 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I also have an etsy shop: purpleprimate.etsy.com. I knit and felt baskets and hats.

Much like Dreamwidth.org's graphic designers, I love to decorate with swirls. :)

Wouldn't it be so cool if there were a Dreamwidth user who was also a beadmaker and could make some beads with Dreamwidth swirls for use in earrings? (I'm not, and I don't think I know anyone who is, but that doesn't stop me from thinking it would be awesome!)

I used to make polymer clay stuff, including the occasional bead. You'd probably have to do it cane style, to get more than one. Hmm.

I've got a shop! Laughing Rat Studio is where I sell my hand-dyed fiber & yarn, batts, and handspun.

I hope the other fibery Etsy peeps here will consider joining [community profile] fleecefiberyarn, which I started when I first joined DW. It's for selling any kind of fiber-related stuff, from your handraised fleeces to finished items. There's hardly any sellers there, so it's very quiet right now. It would be great if others would join and share what they have to offer!

I'm on etsy as dreamhavendesigns.etsy.com

I don't have anything on there right now, because I'm getting ready for a big show in November, but I do a lot of bead-woven and wire jewelry, ornaments, and pretty much anything that strikes my fancy.

I'm actually in the process of contacting Hasbro to get legal permission to craft Transformers jewelry to sell to the public.

As the awesome [personal profile] phi mentioned, I run an etsy shop at purpleshiny.etsy.com. I make metalwork jewelry, often with a geeky and/or steampunk twist. (My shop's a bit on the stale side just now, since I'm getting ready for a show in October, but the things there are still a good sample of what I do).

I like using DW for babbling about what I do, and my journal's recently been an even mix of shop talk and personal life updates (to the extent that those are separable things!) I especially appreciate the inline cut tags, so I can put lots of photos behind cuts and still expect that it'll be easy for people to look at them.

Hi, I'm here from [personal profile] sophiaviolet's link. My shop's a little bare right now due to con season and my day job keeping me busy, but its Aviatrix Workshop here. I tend to make jewelry and things out of upcycled materials, usually a bit geeky and cosplay related stuff.
