*nod* One of these days I will make that post about the worst UI disasters on DW! My traditional example on LJ doesn't work here -- it was so bad that we actually decided not to import it and start from scratch instead of trying to fix it. *g* (Scrapbook, for the record. It's open source, and we could have used it, but oh did I cringe at the prospect of trying to make it work.)
(A lot of the features we ripped out of the codebase -- the schools database, the to-do list -- were cases of the UI being so godawful that we just didn't see a way to redeem them; the amount of work they would've taken was entirely disproportionate to the benefit of the features. Nobody seems to much miss them, with the exception of Scrapbook -- and even then, they just miss the ability to post media, not Scrapbook in particular -- which tells me that the UI was bad enough that nobody was using them.)
