...it's wonderful to have a site that makes me feel valued instead of just another pair of eyeballs to look at ads.
My thoughts exactly. Having had "internet marketers" as clients in the past, I'm really leery of any site with ads, because there's a good chance the people who put them there do consider their visitors to be nothing more than eyeballs for ads, regardless of the nature or purpose of the site.
To all the Dreamwidth staff, I've said this a few times already, but bravo. You've done an amazing thing here, and I look forward to seeing/helping it grow :-)
It's fascinating how you can see daylight times in America overlaid with a smaller rise from Europe/Asia in the peaks. :)
I'm truly impressed with the service you've set up here. So many useful features and none of the annoyances (ads & co, no external commenting without spamunamis). Lovely & best wishes for more rise in the (user) tides.
I think I created the account Thursday night. I remember about a week or two ago, someone posted on LJ about DW, and I was like, "WHATEVA, staying where I am!!" (which is InsaneJournal) Then, a friend offered up a couple invites, and, being the hypocrite that I am, I nabbed one.
I like the look of things so far, and love the idea of getting in on the ground floor, so to speak. I'm still wandering around lost, but I'll get there. Thanks for giving us a new place to play. I'm using a free account for now, and may upgrade to a paid one soon, depending on how much time I spend here. I have friends who want invites, so I hope to get some codes really soon.
Looking at your meter reminds me of when I got my IJ account, and how it exploded about two months later. Off the charts!! I expect you'll encounter the same thing. *g*

This. Absolutely.
I'm thrilled to be in on nearly-the-beginning of DW.

ETA: disabling AdBlock made it visible. I haven't added anything to do with DW to my AdBlock setting, so I'm not sure why it's being blocked.

Apropos of nothing at all, I found Workrave good for combating/treating RSI from too much typing.
